You Gotta Love This Girl

Tracy is well I don’t really know what words to use to describe her other than she is an incredible person. We met on 2peas a couple of years ago, I was a wee girl a couple months shy of my 18th birthday, she was a Garden Girl (one of those women on 2peas who you aww over) and well the rest is history, we’ve emailed each other, cheered each other on and given no barriers held advice when needed, she is a pretty cool lady and I am glad to know her πŸ™‚

So, imagine my delight this afternoon when I came back from celebrating my Grandfather’s 86th Birthday to an email showing me this πŸ™‚ Then to add to all my proudness of what she is achieving, she has a paper line coming out with A2Z Essentials which is about to be released at a trade show that starts today/tomorrow πŸ™‚ Called Harmony πŸ™‚ – Go Tracy πŸ™‚

Blossoms and movies

Blossoms As some of you may know I have recently had no real interest in scrapbooking but yesterday I printed off some photos and then this evening I sat down to have a little play and popped out this one. As long as I don’t spend too much time chatting to people on Messenger I am a relatively quick scrapper, as an image will pop into my head fairly quickly after selecting photos and cardstock and finish most pages in about 30 minutes.

AS part of my anti-boredness campaign, I rented a few DVD’s out the other day, I picked up Kinsey(which was so not what I expected), Crazy/Beautiful (oh the Romeo and Juliet story line set in teen angst, really liked this movie, seemed so real, the turmoil that Carlos had between his family and Nicole, etc etc good stuff and well Jay Hernandez the actor playing Carlos is pretty nice looking), Beyond Borders (really liked how this movie spanned the three events over the period of ten years and well the scene in the beginning where Clive Owens comes barging in just sets the whole scene) and finally Napoleon Dynamite(I got this out after hearing so many people rave on about it but I have to say I didn’t really think it was much of a decent thing, sure it was different to most films but still so not what I felt it was cracked up to be).

The Patchwork Tree had a sale today so I popped on down to add to my stash, I picked up some Amy Butler Charm fabrics as well as some more Japanese imports, oh I wish I could find that company’s website as I would be in heaven.

yay fontwerks!

For those of you are papercrafters, you have probably heard of a very funky company called Fontwerks and if you haven’t where have you been? Hop on over to the website and check it out πŸ™‚

As part of FW hooking up with some an Australian distributor which means it will be a whole lot more easier to find their products here in Aus and NZ, Kah-Mei, asked Fiona Carter and myself to be the Friends of Fontwerks for November. Yeah!

If you get the Fontwerks newsletter you would already know this of course πŸ™‚ but for those who don’t, you can view the latest issue here and subscribe to future issues on the front page of the website.

You can see both mine and Fiona’s work here – November FOF Gallery

Yay Fontwerks!

new focuses

so many things have happened recently but I have been so *focused* on my uni work that I haven’t had a chance to share much.

Try this Technique – A while back I was asked along with some other girls to create some challeneges for Scrapbook Creations and my first one appeared in the mag this month πŸ™‚ So any Aussie or NZ girls, you know you want to enter! There is $200 worth of Xyron to the winner! mmmm if only I could enter πŸ™‚

No more essays …. till next year, handed in my last one this morning, now I just have four exams to ahhh breeze over.

Last Thursday, I had the oppurtunity to meet Ms Ali, and gorgeous Jack and her mum πŸ™‚ I first made contact with Ali, many, many moons ago when I was needing people for an article I did for Scrapbook Creations and then somewhere along the way we started commenting in each other’s blogs etc and then last week we hooked up πŸ™‚ Such a crazy girl, she very much brought out the dork in me πŸ˜€ and well Jack is just a monkey.

And the wonderful Tracy is back scrapbooking and utterly ripping up the gallery with her new creations.

And perhaps the biggest news, is that I am now almost grown up, only one more step on the path πŸ™‚ I graduated to a real fake tooth last friday. I’ve gone from having a tooth on a retainer to a real fake tooth plate, complete with a little bit of fake gum above the tooth πŸ™‚ The new plate is so much easier to speak with as well as been smaller and lighter in my mouth πŸ™‚ and well not having a metal band always looks nicer πŸ™‚ Now I just have to wait a couple of years till I can get an implant πŸ™‚

new teeth

Yeah for dental technology!

new things

We are now half-way through our mid-semester break and so many things have happened in the last couple of days.

Visited two new scrapbooking shops near me, one of them even had FontWerks!! and the other wants me to teach!! I have no idea what to do there. What to teach etc. What do you want?

Now, I haven’t been scrap shopping much since coming home from Iceland. Maybe once or twice when there was a sale but not really shopping.
Here are some of the cute papers I picked up at shop that asked me to teach.

new papers
From left to right, the papers are: MM, Junkitz, Deja Views, Junkitz, Art Warehouse, Lil Davis, MM, Junkitz, MM, 7G and Sassafrass Lass.

Picked up at the other store some paper from Two Busy Mums and Mara-Mi πŸ™‚

Went to see Kaliope yesterday for a haircut/trim/repairing the dodgey job that was done in London. My layers are so much softer now and there is less weight in my hair now. Then she ironed it, wow! I mean I have a straightner/crimper thing that I got when I was young, it fixes the ends in a pinch but would not work/take too long to do the whole head. Wow, my hair is all straight and light, it feels really weird sort of like half of my hair is missing. Will take a photo later, it is so different.

Why is that hair-dressers always chide you when you put your hair behind your ears? It always cracks me up, any hair-dresser I have gone to, always chides me when I tuck my hair behind my ears as soon as the cut is done. Lol, can’t stand hair falling in my face.

Back to scrapping, have done 2 layouts and half way through another one, just playing and haveing fun. Had the rest of my Iceland photos printed off yesterday for the book I am working on, sort of more a portfolio than a scrap book. One matted photo per page with the shooting details and notes about the shot. Simple yet very classy πŸ™‚
