new and old layouts

Compared to most people I am really slack about either scanning layouts in or posting them on 2peas, lately I have been *trying* to get more work up, this of course means that one layout I post I may have done yesterday, the next one I may have done five months ago – I said I was slack πŸ™‚ So here are the recent layouts I have posted no always the most recent I have made. Click to see them bigger and any questions you have, just ask πŸ™‚

browsing in Borders

ok so imagine this.

Young funky girl wearing a pair of moleskin pants, a Kahlua tee and a bulging back pack on back, wondering round Borders after finishing another exam. Decides to go to the top level where the bargain buys are, see if I can find anything I like – nothing much. Now over to cooking that is on the same floor – nothing grabs my eye here either so I wander over to the craft section and smack bang in the middle shelf of the craft section, is the book – The Complete Book of Creative Scrapbooking a whole shelf of our book.

So what does this girl do?
does she
a) just keep on browsing and pretend not to notice it.
b) saunter over and have a flick through and mutter to self about how good looking that guy is on page 75.
or c) pull out mobile phone and ring Barb to tell her that our book has it’s own shelf at Borders, meanwhile having staff and customers look over in awe and amazement.

Now if you picked C you are right of course. I am going to have to go back with a smaller camera and take a photo – didn’t really want to pull out the DSLR and ask someone to take a photo.

Then one of the staff that was near me comes over and asks me which one is the book and proceeds to tell me that he only made that display yesterday πŸ™‚ and chats with me about the book and the process. How cool πŸ™‚

new layouts

The last couple of days I have been unleashing my spirit. Trying new things and re-discovering old ideas. This quote comes to mind.

What we love to do we find time to do.Β

John L. Spalding

Which is so true, sometime I dislike scrapbooking, times when I have other things to do, or am not feeling anything for my photos, it is then I just step back and let the bubble start to grow for my next session.

Yesterday I did four layouts, the day before I did two or three, the day before that I did two or three as well. Here are some of them, some are on 2peas, some aren’t. These layouts are me re-discovering, re-energising.

so happy!

bookJust over a year ago, I was given the opportunity to work on a book called The Complete Book of Creative Scrapbooking, published by Murdoch Books. In the book other than myself is Helen Williams, Tracy Robinson, Barbara Schipplock, Dawn Stan, Ngaire Bartlam, Lynita China, Abby Hogarth, Jody Dent-Pruks and Mischell Lancett. The book was put together by a fantastic lady who I am glad to have had the pleasure of working with Melody Lord.

This book caused much stress in my life, debating over if the work I had created was good enough, was it creative enough etc. Well today, all that went away!

When I arrived home from uni a courier package was sitting on my desk, I looked over the box trying to find out who it was from as I had not purchased anything recently so was not expecting anything. Well I opened it up and much to my delight, the book was inside!!!! I have just spent the last little while leaving a voice mail for Sean to tell him it arrived, emailing Melody with my praise, pouring over the book. Very Happy!

In the book I contributed five projects, one of Sean playing Cricket, one of my brothers in Iceland (with a photo by Karl), one of a dear friend Beth’s Daughter, one of Postcards from Karl and one of a flower πŸ™‚

So Happy! So Happy!
