Skonsur

Whenever we have excess milk in the fridge or Pabbi or I feel like taking the time, we make Skonsur (singular skonsa), which are a thick pancake like bread substitute.
Skonsur

Ingredients.
2 cups plain flour (sifted)
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp lyftiduft/baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 cups Milk

Method:Mix together all dry ingredients, add the eggs and milk, beat till smooth, more milk may be needed for the right consistency.
Pour soup ladle size dollops on greased pancake skillets(seen in this image or frying pan at a medium heat and cook on both sides. Desired size is plate size and thickness is about 1cm (3/8″).
Use instead of bread in sandwiches, or serve warm with slices of cheese or butter, I love having skonsur with cheese and ham for lunches at uni. So yummy and filling.

30 easter eggs

I recieved a carton of Cadbury Easter Eggs from Sean’s parents however it was only after eating most of them that I decided to take some photos, for the effect I wanted though, I simply did not have enough eggs. Luckily for me though the shops still had plenty of eggs leftover and now at half price:) So today before work I bought two more cartons of eggs, so I can take the photos I want to take tommorow when I have some light about. I am so tempted to reach over and eat one or two now but I know if I eat them, I will have less to photograph tommorow so must leave them alone. :(:( Coming tommorow, 30 easter eggs, two cameras, two tripods, one light, one reflector and one photographer 🙂

the four days of easter saw me

Eating way to much chocolate.
Eating way to much fast food.
Watching Without a Paddle, Eurotrip and The Pacifier.
Looking at a dog chewed DVD case, thankfully blockbuster were understanding.
Helping B&D move into their new townhouse.
Snacking on little Easter Eggs in the cinema, very seasonal 🙂
Painting my room.
Driving back and forth between Sean’s place and my place.
Drinking Lemon Archers and Vodka Lemon Lime Orange.
Trying to remember which day the Easter Bunny comes.
Discovering that the How To channel on Foxtel has DIY Scrapbooking, albeit old episodes.
Missing my Sunday morning Will & Grace fix.
Looking at the empty chocolate shelves on Saturday arvo in Coles.
Having a nice time relaxing with friends and family.

How was your Easter long weekend?

Paul Hester

Paul Hester – Dead

Like many Australians or New Zealanders, the songs of Crowded House and Split Enz are songs that are sung sometimes drunkenly at karaoke at the local pub, songs that are belted out at sports games, songs that you turn the volume up when they come on Triple M. So it came as a great shock to me when I saw on the news that Paul Hester is dead, those four words meaning the end of an era.

No chance of revival tours or CDs, no more of that groovey drumming by Paul, no chance of seeing Paul Hestor at Twin Towns. It is all over.

I would like to give my condolences to his family and friends and join with the rest of Australia and New Zealand in expressing our sorrow. Depression is everywhere in our society, I have met many people that are recieving treatment for depression, we must let them tell us what their troubles are, we don’t want to see another sucide in the park. Beyond Blue

Don’t Dream It’s Over
Crowded House

There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There’s a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you’ll never see the end of the road
While you’re travelling with me

Hey now, hey now
Don’t dream it’s over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won’t win.

painting is finished

Beforeafter

The painting is finished, all that is left now is for the installation of new wardrobe doors and painting a shelf to match the wall. The increase in light in the room is just amazing.

Whilst the yellow was by no means dark in fact it was quite bright, the light that the white reflects is just amazing, there is less shadows, just so much more light.

In addition to the extra light, the white is just so clean and crisp, the walls and ceiling look fresh.

Big fan of the white.

Big, big, big thanks to Sean for helping me out over the four days and providing his tradie knowledge in repairing holes and cracks in my room, also to my dear mother for providing the paint, to my younger brother and father for helping when needed and staying out the way when not needed.
