a day of events

World Event 1. – Prince Rainer of Monaco has died, I knew it was coming, just didn’t know when. Ever since I watched a world music award one year when it was in Monaco many years ago. I have a had a special interest in Monaco and their royal family, always checking the mags to see what they were up to etc, I may no longer check the mags that often but I sill have an interest in them, so I pass my condolences on to his family and the people of Monaco.

Rugby Union Event 1. – Queensland Reds Captian Elton Flatley stood down from the positon of captain today, he has had an injury ridden past two seasons, whilst it is sad to see him step down, our only wish is for him for his health to continue to improve so we can see more top class rugby been played from him at Ballymore. Next Captain of the Reds, I am guessing John Roe or Mark Latham, both ready for the position I feel.

Rugby Union Event 2. – Queensland Reds Vice Captain Nathan Sharpe is joining the new Super 14 team in Perth. I know he is going to get a crapola of money, he will be captain. But Sharpie, did you have to go? You were offered the Reds Captain position but you say no and say you are going to Perth. Come on Sharpie, You are a Red through and through. Don’t go Sharpie Hill – I guess it was all for nothing.

Warehouse Cricket Event 1. – The end of an era for the Prawnstars XI, Sean was unable to fill the team this season, so he has had to say fairwell to his team this seasona and will instead play in Mick’s new team the Giant Killers instead. It will be a new era for Sunday Winter Cricket this year.

Imported Magazines

Borders, Borders, Borders, why do you treat my heart so bad?

I had to buy a new monthly bus ticket today, since the bus from uni was 20mins late I would not make it back to my normal bus in time after going up to central station to get a ticket so I decided to get the next bus and spend some time enjoying the city.

First stop was Borders mmm love that shop. Except I normally walk out empty handed because I just have to love reading US magazines like Real Simple but with a cover price of AU$13.95 (~US$10.69) and increasing, more often then not I only allow myself a flick. I emailed Real Simple today though to see about international subs as the site only has info for USA and Canada. I would love to get RS in the mail each month, sigh. I hope they do Int’l subs.

I also saw some cool books that I like the look of which I have added to my text list on the right some though I did not scribble down the name of or they are not yet on USA Amazon. This book in particular is one I can’t wait to get my hands on – Falling Cloudberries. It is one of those cook books where every recipe looked like something that everyone in the house would eat. I like those sort of cook books – cook books for real life.

On the way up to central station I went via Queens Plaza, not long now till it will be finished then I can do some serious window shopping, from what I could see it looks like it will be a visual delight. Opening date is said to be May 24th. sweet.

empty

It is always a pet peeve of mine that the Shampoo and Conditioner bottle never empty at the same, so imagine my delight when tonight they did both empty at the same time. :)Super happy.

Before it was always due to the fact that everyone else in the family used the same stuff but since I bought my oh so nice Pantene for myself, I control the use and I can make sure that I finish both at the same time.

Really Random but it makes me happy.
Back to Uni tommomrow, Essay due on Thursday, and two mid-terms to prepare for the week after. Yay.

XP, a cold and 20/20

well Helen didn’t end up going out last night, I decided that my cold was just too bad to let it be worsened by various drinks. Instead Sean and I went to see Robots – mighty funny movie, as he was a bit sore and tired from two Cricket 20/20 games that day.

My cold is still aweful, my nose feels like it is water tap. I upgraded from Win2k to XP today and thought I had backed everything up, after two formats of my hard drive I realise that I forgot to back up the emails and bookmarks. DOH. Double Doh. They probably needed a clean out anyway but not cleaning everything.

Went with to Sean to watch the last game in the 20/20 comp today. I must say I quite like watching this style of cricket, I think 30/30 would be better to allow more batters to bat. The team did win though after two losses yesterday. A show of great batting, bowling and fielding today. Great work Giant Killers. Photos and more text still to come. Have to go to bed

Helen’s going out

MUM’S GOING OUT
The Whitlams
Mum’s going out gotta put some more petrol on
Gimmie a yippee, oi oi oi
When she started screaming nearly pissed my pants with joy
‘Cause she loves me and wants me to be a happy boy

It’s a short song but I love it, except I am singing Helen’s going out. Cory, Sam and I are heading out for a jaunt in the valley tonight whilst Sean will be rocking it up with Prawnstars at the Vic. A fun night for all is assured.

Won’t be having to many drinks tonight, due to the not so funness of having a cold.
The last saturday before the mid-semester break ends on Tuesday.
