me, my camera and my life.

Hi :D

Happy

I am Helen Palsson or Helen Thura Palsson/Helena þura Pálsdóttir depending on what country I am in or who I am speaking to and in that case I can even be Helen Thura Logan. I am 22. I was born on September 11, 1985 in Brisbane, Australia and still live here in Sunny Brisbane Town.

My birthday is September 11, my older brother has a birthday on July 7, my younger brother has a birthday on March 20. All days when terrible things happened. The beauty of probability.

I live in Brisbane, Australia and whilst I can’t wait to live in other places round the globe I am enjoying my time currently in Brisbane. Since I first read The Drifters by James A Michener I have wanted to go to Morocco and since Christmas 2005, I have had a map of Morocco on my wall which I look at each day. Strangely enough reading Space by Michener has not made me want to be an astronaut.

Between 2003 and 2006 I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Asian and International Studies (Asian History and Politics; International Relations) at Griffith University. The most interesting years of my life. I have done some reception/office work since leaving Uni and am currently looking for a job.

If you have had a look round this site you have probably figured out that I like the feeling I get with a camera in my hand and my kit currently includes the following.
Canon EOS 5D
Canon EOS 5QD
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM
Canon EF 50mm F1.4 USM
Canon EF 85mm F1.8 USM
Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM
Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG ASPHERICAL HSM

plus assorted tripods, filters, cables etc.

Retired.

All photos on this site are available for purchase, whether you would like a print or would like to negotiate a usage license. I am also available to photograph any events or projects that you require a photographer for. Please send an email to helenAThelenthura.com to discuss it further.

I also happen to like cooking just a wee bit.
My two favourite magazines are BBC Good Food and ABC Delicious and when I can get my hands on a copy of Taste from New Zealand I am very happy.

Some of my favourite cook books on my shelf are:
Claudia Roden
Arabesque

Jamie Oliver
Jamie’s Kitchen
Happy Days with the Naked Chef
Return of the Naked Chef
The Naked Chef

Tessa Kiros
Apples for Jam
Falling Cloudberries

Music is another big part of my life as you might have gathered as well. For an analysis of my musical tastes check out my Last.FM profile.
